For many years they have been providing all the flowers for the Kilkenny Arts Festival.
Once again we are delighted to be the floral provider for the Kilkenny Arts Festival. As part of our sponsorship we provide all flowers for St-Canices Cathedral, St-John’s Priory, The Parade Tower, The Black Abbey, The Festival Club as well as all presentation bouquets and flowers for the performers.
At Lamber de Bie Flowers we believe that we offer a extra attraction to; in our opinion, the best festival Kilkenny offers every year.
All floral displays are designed by Dutch Master Florist, Lamber de Bie, site-specific and created by Lamber and his team of florists.
Lamber received a personal compliment on his floral displays from President Michael D. Higgins after a fantastic musical performance that they both enjoyed in St-Canices Cathedral.
While creating these displays, Lamber brought along his latest “apprentice” Minister Ann Phelan, who clearly has many more talents than what she gets to use in her day-job.
All these venues are open for viewing between the performances and it’s well worth going to see the dramatic floral arrangements during Kilkenny Arts Festival while enjoying our Beautiful Kilkenny.
White Phalaonopsis Orchids
The Phalaonopsis orchid, one of Lamber’s favorite flowers, features in the modern composition that Lamber created for the Black Abbey in Kilkenny.
Over 200 large, fresh orchid flowers cascade from a natural globe of vine branches placed on a 7ft tall modern metal stand. With the Orchids Lamber also used natural, trailing Tillandsia plants. These plants are often seen growing together on the same trees in their natural habitat.
Recognition from President Michael D. Higgins.
The Globe in the floral display at the Black Abbey for this years Art Festival was created by Dutch Master Florist Lamber de Bie from prunings of his vines from his garden. If you would like to see how to make this yourself have a look back at a previous blog on this page.
In the serene setting of St-John’s Priory Lamber chose to keep a colour pallete of whites and greens with white Oriental Lilies, large white Hydrangea blooms, large dark green glossy Monstera leaves and delicate fennell flowers from the florist’s garden.

I could’t resist putting this picture into my blog of an amazing instument of a Dutch company.
While creating the floral backdrop in the church Lamber and his team had the pleasure of listening to some rehersals for the upcoming performances. We love our job!
Ann Phelan TD – A lady with many talents.
I hope you all get to enjoy, not only some of the many amazing performances during the festival, but also take a moment to enjoy the floral masterpieces.
